About this speaker
A member of Mount Olivet UMC in Arlington, Kenn Speicher serves on the Virginia Conference’s Refugee Response Team and is a point of contact for congregations seeking information about assisting Afghan allies in Virginia. He chairs the Peace & Non-Violence work group of the Conference’s Board of Church and Society.
Kenn is a co-founder of NOVA Friends of Refugees, a grassroots interfaith network of more than 1,500 members that welcomes, assists, and advocates for refugees. He is an original organizer and serves on the Board of its sister organization, One Journey, a grassroots movement that celebrates refugee talents, stories, and contributions. In addition, Kenn leads advocacy efforts for the Northern Virginia Coalition for Refugee Wellness, is a voice for refugees on state advisory boards, and supports education projects in Haiti for Mount Olivet UMC. A graduate of the University of Delaware, Kenn is retired after a career in advertising and marketing. He lives in Arlington with his wife Ann.
